Smartbroker AG

Smartbroker has been a major part of my frontend career: I worked there as a Frontend Engineer from 2021 until June 2025 and returned as a Senior Frontend Engineer in November 2025. My work on the broker app includes complex trading functionality, performance optimizations, and continuous improvements to the user interface. I collaborate closely with UX designers, backend teams, and other disciplines to make complex financial processes as intuitive as possible.

Digital accessibility

As part of my frontend work, I took on professional responsibility for digital accessibility and designed and documented audits based on WCAG 2.2. EN 301 549 served as the European reference framework.

Testing and quality assurance

I combined manual testing with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and magnification with automated checks using axe and Playwright. I also introduced accessibility rules through ESLint, monitoring and reporting in SonarQube, and supported the implementation of resulting measures.

Foreverbet & CryptoGaming

During my time at BirdRave, I helped build the two related sports betting and crypto platforms Foreverbet and CryptoGaming. I implemented core betting functionality – from placed bets to multi-bets – as well as several real-time features powered by WebSockets. My other responsibilities included a chat with emoji features, notifications for high rollers and winners, an internal feature flag tool, integrating Playwright into the CI/CD pipeline, and various UI/UX improvements. In addition, I was responsible for digital accessibility and worked to ensure that interfaces and core user journeys were implemented as accessibly as possible.

Espresto AG

A private project I developed in my spare time. The customer is an IT company that specializes in the development of individual software solutions. What was special about this job was the implementation of various animations. These were realized with Framer Motion and Lottie.

Accessibility App

My own research led to an interactive learning application about digital accessibility. It teaches WCAG 2.2 success criteria through practical examples and interactive exercises and already includes more than 30 lessons.

50+ websites developed

During my training, I developed more than 50 websites. These were mostly implemented in PHP, SCSS, Bootstrap and Javascript. For most of the projects, I created the design myself and developed the websites from scratch. This allowed me to learn the best practices in web design and web development. My design background has given me a good eye for detail, and frontend development has remained my specialty.

Old Portfolio

Even though I no longer use this portfolio, it still has a place in my heart. I developed it at the end of my training, and it helped me enter new worlds. Out of pure nostalgia, it can still be found at old.aaron-jung.com.
